Happy New Year, Bonne Année, Feliz Año Nuevo!
I am back in the swing of things after a well needed break over the Holiday season. I hope that you were also able to get some rest time, and time doing the things you love.
Did I say back in the swing of things? I really mean that I am getting started. I tend to ease into the new year at a pace that works for me. I am still setting up my new bullet journal, and fine tuning my goals and intentions for the year.
I have however chosen my word of the year: Harmony. I also added a guiding phrase for this year: “Intentional alignment”. I spent most of New Year’s Day reflecting and thinking about 2022, and my word and phrase were the result.
If you need some support in getting started I highly recommend the resources from Susannah Conway; she shares a free booklet to unravel the year, as well as a workbook for finding your word.
If you haven’t done any of this, don’t feel like you are behind, or it’s too late. I firmly believe that the entire month of January is meant for these kind of reflections and decisions. Heck, even if it takes a couple months, the important thing is that you’re thinking about it. I’m still working on the Unravel Your Year booklet myself.
One other important thing that has been decided is our book club line-up for the year. You can see the entire schedule in the group. And if reading more this year is your thing, grab one of my book review journals!
I’m still working on my creative plans for the year. I do know I want to do more yarn projects. I also need to work on beating procrastination. I suffered from that a lot last year, putting off starting, or completing things. I love making stuff, and I want that fulfilled feeling that creating gives me more often. It makes me feel connected, and if there’s one thing we all need right now, it’s more connection, in whatever form that takes. What are your crafty plans for the year?
Starting Friday expect our regularly scheduled program to resume: weekly and monthly newsletters that you can read in your inbox, or directly on the Substack site.
Thanks for being part of the Callaloo Collective. Here’s to a wonderfully creative year!
