I really got into Audiobooks when I had my first long commute many many years ago. I started with Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. Fast forward to the present and I now always have an audiobook going and I listen to both fiction and nonfiction. I agree that the narrator makes the difference. A few that I have recently enjoyed:
The Girl with the Louding Voice by Abi Daré
The Island of Missing Trees by Elif Shafak
The Anthropocene Reviewed: Essays on a Human-Centered Planet
by John Green - non fiction
A Psalm for the Wild-Built and A Prayer for the Crown-Shy by Becky Chambers.
