Hello friend,

May is my birthday month, plus I get to celebrate Mother’s Day twice! It’s also the month when my rose and peony bushes are blooming, and the weather is pretty perfect. Needless to say it’s my favourite month of the year!

While we had record high temperatures, I am NOT complaining because I much prefer being hot to being cold. And I’m always happier when it’s sunny.

What were some of your joyful moments in May? Mine included:

• peonies indoors and outdoors

• watching the garden take shape

• two birthday celebrations with friends

• the burnt sugar cake I made for my birthday

• picking strawberries

• making art I love

• a surprise iris bloom

• playing percussion all day then again at night

• salad bar week

• cutting and drying herbs for teas

• caramelised banana oatmeal with strawberries for breakfast

• first nasturtium bloom

• adding fairy lights to my swing

• my dianthus blooming
