it's gonna be maaaaay #sorrynotsorry
important and creative news for crafters and book club members
They say April showers bring May flowers, so I am hoping for an abrupt stop to the rain we’ve been getting this week, so I can go outside to enjoy my garden. (My sadly neglected garden, but that’s another story.)
How was your April? Mine seemed to fly by in a blur. I know that’s partly because of how busy I was with things like blogging every day, and doing my photo challenge, but it’s probably also because of that feeling described a fable I read years ago where life starts off feeling like a snail and then gets gradually faster and faster. Has anyone else read this? I tried searching for it but came up empty. I’m convinced that Stephen King wrote something about this, but can’t find that either.
France will be slowly opening up throughout May, and I am looking forward to having a drink on a terrace on my birthday. I hope things are opening up wherever you are too.
Here are some things to celebrate in May:
Bike Month
Get Caught Reading Month
Photo Month
1st: National Scrapbook Day
4th: Star Wars Day
15th: Bring Flowers to Someone Day
20th: Notebook Day
21st: International Tea Day
29th: Paper Clip Day
How will you mark these days? Make a note in your calendar or bullet journal.
My focus this May will be on building the Callaloo Soup/OCB community, but I will also be checking out the Sewing Summit at Rebecca Page, and maybe doing a 30-Day Commonplace Book Challenge. I am excited about the daily botanical challenge at CreativeBug, but I need to use my time wisely!
What challenges or creative practices are you doing this month?
News from Callaloo Soup & the OCB
What did you read in April? Let us know in the Sister Reads group. Our book club meeting for Walden will be held this Sunday May 2nd at 2:30 pm EST. Please note the change in time. It’s only this once as I have a scheduling conflict.
Our book for May is The Last Story of Mina Lee. It’s not only one of our Diverse Authors for 2021, but also fits the “immigrant story” prompt of the Hamilton Challenge.
Get your free printable May calendars in the Get Clear group. This will become a standard feature going forward. All the free printables that I previously offered when signing up for e-mails from the Organised Crafterbrain will now be found in the Files section of that group.
Let us know what you’ll be up to this May! Just click on the comment icon which you can find right below my name at the top, or at the end of this e-mail. Let’s catch up soon.
