5 things for the weekend 25.26
journaling summer camp, quiet joys, a best books list, creativity field guide, citrus orange galette
After three very full weeks, I am ready to be fully introverted again. I had a wonderful time at a number of private get togethers and public events, but this weekend I just want to chill at home, potter around the garden and studio, hunker down in the cool to avoid the heatwave, and read and knit like there’s no tomorrow.
What are your weekend plans?
5 Things
1. You know that I am all about sharing tips about journaling for people who forget to journal, so I had to give you a heads-up about Kristin Tweedale’s (
) Find Your Voice Summer Camp. It starts July 1st, and is a six week program to help you find your journaling feet, so to speak.2. Have you experienced the phenomenon of becoming slightly like your favourite characters in books, and adopting some of their habits?
ponders just this in her essay on books about the quiet joy of everyday life.3.
from Nice Try shares the best books she’s read in the last five years. We have many best reads in common!4. it may not be the right season for this but I definitely want to make this citrus and orange galette. I’ll be bookmarking this recipe for later in the year!
5. I’m absolutely loving this Field Guide for Creatives that’s meant to help us reclaim and reconnect with our creativity in a way that has nothing to do with hustle, monetizing, or creating “content.” (via

Some of those best books are also on my list and now I have some more to add. I have been meaning to try making a GF crust and this galette may be the best place to start.
I’m finishing up my Caribbean and PRIDE reading this weekend. Like you, I just want some calm and quiet. Looking forward to it. 🥰
