5 things for the weekend 25.06
make notes as you read, using one notebook, essential black literature, celebrity memoirs, science fiction or fantasy?
In February we’re building good habits and finishing old WIPs. We’re starting that journaling or meditation, or other good habit that we know will make us feel great. We’re eating and drinking for nourishment and enjoyment. We’re trying new things and being okay with being bad at them at first. We’re soaking up the good weather whenever it comes, and finding ways to bring light and cosiness when it doesn’t. We’re sharing and showing love in numerous ways. We’re fighting white supremacy and the patriarchy. We’re building community and making connection with like-minded souls.
5 Things
1. One of my goals this year is taking better notes as I read, to eventually also write better reviews. The way that Shari Dragovich of
outlines how to do this, will definitely start me off on the right foot.2. Book Designer Nathaniel Roy (
) lets us see into his notebook to inspire us on picking up a notebook habit for the new year. He definitely has me rethinking my notebook game, since his one notebook is a catchall for many different uses.3. Librarian
shares her Top 50 Essential Titles in Black Literature. You can see her Top 5 in this post, and get a link to the full list.4. I loved this post about celebrity memoirs from
. Not only because I agree with her opinions on them, but because she gives three great recommendations, and the comments on the post are also filled with good ideas.5. What’s the difference between Fantasy and Science Fiction?
has a pretty good answer to this burning question.
