5 things for the weekend 25.04
daily art, upcycled cat bed, tikka masala, january reads, 100 day project
Good Bones
Life is short, though I keep this from my children.
Life is short, and I’ve shortened mine
in a thousand delicious, ill-advised ways,
a thousand deliciously ill-advised ways
I’ll keep from my children. The world is at least
fifty percent terrible, and that’s a conservative
estimate, though I keep this from my children.
For every bird there is a stone thrown at a bird.
For every loved child, a child broken, bagged,
sunk in a lake. Life is short and the world
is at least half terrible, and for every kind
stranger, there is one who would break you,
though I keep this from my children. I am trying
to sell them the world. Any decent realtor,
walking you through a real shithole, chirps on
about good bones: This place could be beautiful,
right? You could make this place beautiful.

5 Things
1. I love Kelcey Ervick’s newsletter in illustrations, and doubly loved this edition on how she started a daily art habit.
2. Your furry purry friend might* definitely appreciate a warm resting place made with upcycled fabrics. * you never know with cats, amiright?
3. You can’t go wrong with a hot and flavourful chicken tikka masala. Especially with an easy recipe.
4. Brighten up January (and really anytime) with these reads suggested by The Women’s Prize for Fiction.
5. The 2025 edition of The 100 Day Project will start on February 23rd! That gives us one month to get ready. Are you thinking of doing the project this year? Stay tuned for details on a support group I’ll be starting to keep us focused and motivated.

I am looking forward to another 100 day project, still noodling what to do. Those kitties were so cute that I forgot the real reason I went to the page...to learn about the beds lol!
