5 things for the weekend 25.02
a list of favourite things, inchie art challenge, knit warmer knits, art of wintering, 2024 books read
I am still taking it slow this month, and setting up good routines and habits. My new craft planners arrived today, so closing out 2024 and getting those set up is high on my list this weekend. I plan to do as much of that as I can next to the fire.
The first week back to work wasn’t as bad as I feared. I totally built up some apprehension in my mind, but it all went smoothly, even the days with mild hiccups, and schedule changes.
Note to self: stop expecting the worst maybe? It does help that I eased back in, and did fun activities with the kids: we made Happy New Year Party hats! They absolutely loved that.
How goes it for you as you ease into the new year?
5 Things
1. Austin Kleon does a wonderful round up on his favourite things of the year. This list is inspiring me to do something similar!
2. Join Amy Maricle of MIndful Art Studio for the 2025 Inchie Challenge. This is a simple and fun art challenge that will get your creative juices flowing.
3. It’s time for winter knits! Knit warmer mittens with these tips from Interweave.
4. Lean in to everything winter entails with this free mini-course The Art of Wintering.
5. I loved reading through this list of all the books that Elisa Gabbert read in 2024, with brief notes on each one. Another inspiring idea!

That cartoon is so me lol! I am going to check out that wintering course. Maybe together with reading the book "Wintering: The Power of Rest and Retreat in Difficult Times" by Katherine May, I will embrace the next three to four months.
