5 things for the weekend 24.15
free printable craft tracker, fireplace decor, cheese bites, on writing, disco balls, 5-minute decluttering
I recently rearranged the tables and desks I use for various things to be more efficient. Also because our living room was starting to become too cluttered, and that was stressing me out. Even though I am not a naturally tidy person, disorganisation, and especially inefficiency, can definitely affect the way I feel and function. I find myself always trying to find the optimum way to store, organise, and use things in my daily and creative life. I’m sure it drives my family crazy, because to them it probably just seems like I am just dissatisfied, but I am truly looking for ways to make our lives better, and more streamlined. If we have systems for running things smoothly then that means we have more time to do the things we love. Right? That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!
5 Things
1. Unless you’re in the southern hemisphere, your fireplace is probably looking a bit lonely right now (or will be soon). Use it as a statement piece for the spring and summer with these decorative ideas.
2. Need a quick idea for a cocktail party or potluck? Try these parmesan-cheddar-basil bites. Ready in under an hour!
3. Our prompt for the Journal Mood challenge today is “magic”, and I wrote about how creativity is a form of magic. (Hat tip to Elizabeth Gilbert). So I definitely agree with Myriam Chancy about writing being a form of conjuring.
4. Did you know that disco balls don’t have to stay silver? (I have disco balls on the mind after seeing this video). Learn how you can spray paint them.
5. All the brilliant sunshine flowing through my windows is letting me know it’s time for a clean and declutter! You too? Here are seven 5-minute decluttering projects you can do today.
News from The Callaloo Collective
If you’re a knitter who works on multiple projects, and you use interchangeable needle tips with cables, you probably are always on the hunt for your needle tips when you switch or start a new project. Note them all down safely in this needle tips and cable tracker.
I’ve updated the shop on Patreon with a few new printables including a simple project planner, a full 120 page craft supply and project tracker, and a 30-day journal with prompts. A word of advice to iPhone users: when purchasing do so from a browser and not the Patreon app, as Apple will add on a $3.00 fee.
