5 things for the weekend 24.13
reading goals, limoncello cake roll, inchie challenge, until august, stanley cups
This week I jumped into a different kind of creative endeavour, one that is a bit off my usual beaten track. I learnt about the 75 hard Style Challenge earlier this year. It’s a fashion/outfit challenge where you only use items in your closet to come up with outfits for 75 days. it’s used as a way to get out of the “I have nothing to wear” mindset, as you try on and style what you have available. I do already kind of do this as I don’t shop for clothes very often, so I am doing this as a way to do a wardrobe edit, and weed out the things that really no longer work for me, while exploring new ways to use what I love. But since I feel like I am still building a cohesive wardrobe, I am allowing myself a two-layered caveat to add new items.
I can make new things
I can thrift items using money I earn selling things I no longer want.
This is totally new territory for me, as I am in no way shape or form a fashion influencer (LOL), but I am already having a blast! I will be sharing my daily outfits in my Stories on Instagram if you want to follow along.
5 Things
1. I totally agree with this NPR article about how to set the right reading goal for you. It’s not always about numbers!
2. Taste the flavours and colours of Spring in this Limoncello Almond Cake Roll.
3. Join this year’s Inchie Challenge with Amy Maricle and make tiny and relaxing art.
4. Junot Diaz weighs in on Gabriel Garcia Marquez’ Until August, which was published posthumously against his wishes.
5. If you haven’t heard about Stanley Cups, you’re probably not currently on planet earth. Amanda Mull explores this cultural phenomenon in an article and a podcast episode.
