5 things for the weekend 24.11
easy spring wreath, hot cross buns, best camera lens, sewing tip, free pattern
I’m at the end of a week where I feel that I truly lived with intention and purpose. In my daily journaling on Tuesday morning I wrote that the best thing about Monday was feeling in the flow all day. it’s been one of those weeks where for the most part I didn’t question if what I was doing at any given moment was what I should be doing. It all felt right.
I’m not naive enough to think that it will always be like this, but I am glad that I am aware of it so that I can reflect and assess what is working as I go forward. I definitely attribute part of this to the morning routine I now use, (and mostly stick to). And of course my deeper journaling for my word of the year (purpose), my exchanges with the journaling group, and the support from my deepening Tarot practice.
What’s been working for you lately?
5 Things
1. Back in December I shared how to make simple Holiday wreaths with embroidery hoops, and now here’s a tutorial showing how you can update them for Spring.
2. Did anyone else grow up singing the hot cross buns song? How about eating them? if you want to continue or create the tradition try this recipe.
3. Is anyone still using DSLR cameras? I keep telling myself that I should pick mine back up again. If you do check out this list of the best lenses to buy.
4. Laminated fabrics and oilcloth are great for making outdoor items, and things that need to be cleaned frequently. If you struggle with sewing them, get some help from this article.
5. I’ve been working on getting my Make Nine Sewing project all set up, and one item I want to make is a kimono style jacket. As I searched for ideas I came across this free pattern and tutorial, and I think I will definitely be taking a closer look at it.
