5 things for the weekend 24.07
your year book, hanging flowers, crustless quiche, budget diy, creatives of colour
Now that I am two weeks into my daily one page/one thing journaling I can see how it helps to remove the barriers for starting. All I need is a notebook, a pen and a few markers, and I just write out one thing about the day before. At the same time that I started doing this, I also dabbled with another method of documenting, and to date I haven’t even finished the first day. It’s a method that intrigues me, and that I know will be helpful, but it contains several layers. I’m sure that I will pick it up again at some point, but for now I am going with what works, until I have a fully developed habit.
If there’s a particular practice you’ve been trying to make a habit, but find it difficult to do so, consider doing the simplest version of it as a way to not only begin, but continue. Don’t beat yourself up if things aren’t working the way they are :supposed to”. Break it down into the smallest thing that you can do, and get started.
5 Things
1. What as the most popular book the year you were born? Find out in this list. Mine was 'Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?' by Philip K. Dick, which I have been wondering whether to read, and now I guess I will!
2. Spring is in the air, and you can make it literally so by creating a hanging flower installation.
3. I want to try this crustless jalapeño potato quiche, but I think I will kick it up a notch by using sweet potatoes too!
4. Speaking of Spring, it’s the time of year that I feel that urge to refresh my home. I have a few DIY projects in mind, and I will add this simple curtain rod idea to the mix.
5 Scrapbook and Cards Today has created this wonderful post featuring a fantastic line-up of Creatives of Colour in the papercrafting space.
