5 things for the weekend 23.37
free knitting app, feta dip, light in the dark months, creativity tip, stitched tetras
I’m declaring my season of hygge open! Our weather shifted abruptly into a rainy and blustery autumn, and I’m happy to say I was prepared. (Well physically if not mentally). My wardrobe is switched over, and it’s truly sweater weather now. At the end of winter this year I decided to keep the bulk of my candles out, (because candlelight is good at any time), so that made it easy to get that cosy feeling this week when it started to rain non-stop. The tea drawer is well stocked (although I might be adding more), and this upcoming week I’ll be getting the extra blankets out.
How is your seasonal shift going?
5 Things
1. I have no idea what I’d do with these stitched mini tetras, but I know I want to make a bunch! They are adorably cute and look easy enough to work up. What would you use them for?
2. Speaking of hygge and candlelight, I loved this read from Katherine May about lighting the darker months. As a confirmed sun lover, the autumn and winter months are hard for me. I’ll be using these ideas to help me through it.
3. My husband and I have made a couple different versions of whipped feta dip (very popular at parties!), but this hot pepper version is a game changer!
4. I love the classic free patterns from Tin Can Knits, they are great for beginners to make their first knitted items, and I was excited to see they have an app with the free patterns built in! You can customise them by choosing the yarn type and size which makes the pattern easy to follow. Some great gift ideas here too!
5. When do you feel most creative? I always seem to get good ideas in the shower, while walking, and just before falling asleep. The latter is pretty inconvenient as I am usually not in a state to make a note. Here’s why those ideas come at bedtime, and some tips to encourage that kind of thinking at other times.

“This is how I does see the world: by reading books. I does go to London, Hong Kong, Siberia, even, when I read a book. I does meet all kind of people. Learn all kinds of words. Live all kinds of lives.”
― Lisa Allen-Agostini
I think the tetras would make perfect little Christmas decorations 💕
