5 things for the weekend 23.31
gluten free pancakes, free printables, historical fiction, making zen
With a relatively open weekend coming up, I am looking forward to relaxing with books, yarn, and naps! September has been fairly calm so far as everything starts back up again, so I am taking advantage of that, as I know the pace will pick back up towards the end of the month. We’re continuing to have very nice weather, still sunny, and somewhat cooler, which is lovely. I have some gardening/yard work projects on deck, and will get to those before the wet and dreary autumn hits. Once that happens I will refocus on the indoors and get some major decluttering done.
What are your plans?
5 Things
1. Every time someone sees me knitting and asks about it, I talk about how I find it soothing and meditative. This knitting psychiatrist from Switzerland agrees!
2. Do you automatically think World War II when you think about historical fiction? There’s so much more to the genre, including these five set all around the world.
3. I think I’ll be trying this gluten free chickpea pancake recipe very soon! Farinata hails from Italy and combines chickpea flour with fresh rosemary, onion and other spices. This link will take you directly to the recipe, but scroll up to read more about farinata in the post.
4. For the third year, I’ll be checking out Making Zen, and online retreat with a holistic approach to creativity.
5. The Knit Picks crew is offering a bunch of fun and useful printables for people who make things with yarn. Get colouring pages, cheat sheets, planning pages and more.
