5 things for the weekend 23.15
chicken pot pie, scrapbooking, book lists, creative summits, kids' bedrooms
When we moved into this house almost seven years ago, I had a vision for our front yard of beautiful wisteria blooms over the metal arbour to the left. I had fallen in love with wisteria during my first Spring in France, and always knew I wanted to grow some someday. The arbour was originally covered by an extremely ugly Virginia Creeper (no shade to Virginia!), and I was determined to get rid of it. Five years ago, I bought two small wisteria plants, spent an entire weekend ripping out the creeper, (it’s very persistent, I have to cut it back and root it up every year), and planted my two baby wisterias. And this year my vision is almost complete. My babies have become magnificent, and a joy to behold. The next step is to train it to grow up the façade of the house, which I’ll be starting this Spring. I am reminded that it’s okay for things to not happen the second you dream them up. Gardening continues to teach me many lessons!
5 Things
1. I truly enjoyed setting up my son’s bedroom through the years when he was little (he’s a teen now, it’s all out of my hands). So I enjoyed this round-up of ideas for boys’ bedrooms. Though I do think these ideas can be used for little kid!
2. Though I hardly do any memory keeping anymore (sigh, need to get on that), I still love scrapbooking and all things papercraft like this step by step process of a super adorable page for a sweet kitten.
3. Are you obsessed with List Challenges like me? Especially the ones about books? I enjoyed this one based on someone’s bookshelf. Let me know your score in the comments!
4. What’s going on your meal plan for the next week? I’m considering this InstantPot Chicken Pot Pie. This website has some of the best InstantPot recipes I’ve used.
5. Online creative summits like Sketchbook Revival are some of the best ways to get a taste of the technique and teaching style of a variety of artists. Here’s another one coming up from Colorcrush Creative in a few weeks.
