5 things for the weekend 23.12
diy solid dish soap, keeping salads tasty, non-candy easter treats, 365 days of hobbies
I’ve been reflecting on the idea of “small” lately, and how powerful being small can be. First in the context of small business, as I go through the Meet the Maker challenge on Instagram, but also how taking consistent small steps can lead to big things happening. Honing habits daily, or doing just the simplest thing you can manage right now, and building on it, can all add up to big impact. If you ever feel discouraged by your progress in anything, take a look back at all the small things you’ve done to get you to where you are, and look closely at where you started, to see just how far you’ve come.
5 Things
1. Salad season is approaching over here, and I can’t wait! I love this idea on how to make pasta salads stay tasty for later servings.
2. Sci-Fi anyone? I’ve loved this genre since I was a teen, and I am always looking for good sci-fi reads, so I was happy to find this list of the most influential recent sci-fi books on Book Riot.
3. What happens when you spend 365 days indulging in a new hobby every day? Liz Regalia tells us what she learnt, and suggests hobbies you might want to try.
4. Easter is heading our way, and while there’s nothing wrong with candy filled baskets (sign me up!), here are some other ideas you can add.
5. Interested in living more sustainably? Try making your own solid dishwashing soap bar. This is a great zero-waste idea!
