5 things for the weekend 23.11
clutter busting, meal prep your lunches, best picture adaptations, building empathy
Three weeks into the 100 Day Project, and it is already quite the learning experience. I realised pretty early on, that transferring my ideas from my brain to paper is harder than I expected. Not that I thought I was that good of an artist to easily draw or paint my ideas, but some days it has been a struggle. One factor is that I have been out of practice, I haven’t done much art over the past six months or so. So already the project is achieving one of my goals, which is making art every day, and building that particular “muscle”. Happily there are days like the one when I completed the image above that motivate me to press on. You can follow along with my worldbuilding adventure on Instagram.
5 Things
1. Clutter is something that weighs on my mind (and my eyes!) constantly. I am determined to do better to clear our living areas. These 15 tips from Becoming Minimalist will definitely help.
2. I’ve been thinking lately about how I struggle with reading non-fiction, and while I will continue to pick it up from time to time, fiction is definitely my preference, and this is one good reason why.
3. As someone who doesn’t have a valid driver’s license in my country of residence (I can drive, and have two other licenses), I enjoyed this piece from Margaret Atwood on her experiences learning to drive.
4. I made this Black Bean Quinoa Bowl for my work lunches this week, and highly recommend it. A great recipe for meal preppers.
5. I just learned that 43 Oscar best Winner films are book adaptations. How many of them have you read?

“Lesson one,” Anatov said. “And this is for all of you. Learn how to learn. Read between the lines. Know what to take and what to discard.”
