5 things for the weekend 23.06
math for knitters, non-fiction reads, salmon rice bowl, special Patreon offer
We are currently on winter break in France, and so I am reveling in lazy mornings with coffee and pastries, lots of knitting, reading as much as I can, and soaking up the lovely sunshine that we are blessed with right now.
I hope that you are finding some moment to rest and refresh.
5 Things
1. I’m trying really hard to read non-fiction this year. I used to read quite a bit several years ago, but now I definitely prioritise fiction. I’m hoping this list of 25 non-fiction books will help.
2. I enjoyed this animated story of the 17th Century artist and naturalist Maria Sibylla Merian, brought to life using her own illustrations
3. Wooden clothespins are probably out of use these days but they make a great craft supply! Try this napkin holder idea.
4. We all adored the different flavours in this very yummy salmon rice bowl. It comes together so quickly, you can have dinner on the table in 30 minutes!
5. I’m finding this article about holding yarn double while knitting very handy. There’s a formula for working out the yarn weight of combined yarns, and easy ways to figure it out without doing too much math! This is great to help you to use up your stash.
I am:
Reading: The Prophets by Robert Jones
Listening: Under the Whispering Door by T J Klune
Watching: Firefly Lane
Making: Year Round Popover
Loving: winter break with lots of sunshine

“As with any good magic, she topped it off with a gentle humming that listeners often mistook for an ode to some far-off trickster in the sky.”

We had the salmon bowl twice this week. It is so good!
Definitely trying that salmon bowl and good article for yarn weights!
