5 things for the weekend 22.27
crochet for cat lovers, savoury pound cake, a bookish playlist, lazy summer days
Happy Friday folks! Today I am slowing things way down after a late night with friends having a BBQ dinner in our garden. It’s stifling hot here, so relaxing in a cool room with a cold drink, and a book is the way to go. Yesterday was a holiday, and most people get today off to “make the bridge” as they say here, so it’s a long leisurely weekend. I hope you’re finding time to relax and just be during these lazy hazy days of summer.
5 Things
1. I stumbled across this idea just today: savory pound cake made with tomatoes! I am definitely intrigued. The process reminds me of French clafoutis.
2. I’ve been reading for a very long time, and sometimes a book title will come up that I know I loved, but I couldn’t tell you any details of the story. Why do we forget what we read? The Atlantic has a theory.
3. Are you a cat lover who crochets? Then you might need this pattern for making a cat shaped pillow.
4. Listen to the music that inspired and was featured in Monique Roffey’s The Mermaid of Black Conch. Check out the links to other playlists by well known authors.
5. I will never stop trying to convince you that you should start a bullet journal.
What are you DoING?
I am:
Reading: Sugar in the Blood
Listening: Under the Whispering Door
Watching: Superstore
Making: a glittery summer pullover
Loving: hanging out with friends
and you?
